Description
Cozy, charming lakefront cottage on quiet, spring-fed Lake Chaffee. Relax on the deck, swim, canoe or kayak around the lake to one of the little islands with rope swings, float on a raft, fish, enjoy the changing light, read, nap, go hiking in the nearby state park, or bike on scenic roadways.
Too calm? Head out for some antiquing in Pomfret, Woodstock or Brimfield, or head towards the CT wine trail, Sturbridge Village, nearby University of Connecticut, Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods Casinos, or Thompson International Speedway. Or try a ropes course or zip line at The Adventure Park at Storrs.
If you don’t feel like grilling with lake views and eating under the stars, then head out to local, charming cafes.
The cottage itself is fully equipped – simple but comfortable indoor/outdoor living. Two bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen, and a living room and dining area which opens up to a very large deck overlooking the lake. Wi-Fi, cable television, free movies, music, board games, cards and books. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit in the evening.
Located in historic Ashford, Connecticut, between New York City and Boston and an easy commute to Hartford, Boston or NY.
