Luxurious, custom-designed and built private home with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large recreation room in the finished basement downstairs, hand-built furniture and stone fireplace designed by owner, and a magnificent view of the surrounding foothills, pasturelands and Pintlar Mountain Range of the Anaconda-Pintlar Wilderness Area in southwestern Montana.
Ours is a single-level house with vaulted ceilings and a finished basement. Amenities include internet WiFi access, Direct TV, an indoor jacuzzi in the master bedroom, a pool table, Foosball table, wood-burning chiminea, propane barbecue, a large yard and sheltered patio area, and plenty of space for parking your RV or trailers.
If you decide to bring your horses, we have a barn and a five acre paddock to help make them comfortable.
With only a five minute drive to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, you can enjoy swimming, dining, golf, a relaxing spa day, or take a walk along the Copperway Trail that helps link Butte and Anaconda together in an east-west route through Durant Canyon. Thirty minutes from the house, the Mt. Haggin Wildlife Management and Recreation Area offers an abundance of sporting and recreational opportunities, depending on the season, including hiking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
If your tastes are inclined toward history, you can explore Butte and Anaconda, which, together, form the nation’s largest National Historic Landmark District; or visit the beautifully restored 19th Century buildings and attractions of Philipsburg, or the vintage car museum or the old prison in Deer Lodge less than an hour away. Numerous ghost towns dot the area, and up at the 10,000 foot level of the nearby wilderness area, the crest of the Anaconda-Pintlar Range helps form a small part of the American West’s spine that is the Continental Divide. If you’re lucky, and careful, you might even spot some white-tail deer, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk or perhaps other wildlife while you’re out on a hike or a drive.
Go for a scenic drive past Georgetown Lake, or downhill skiing at Discovery Basin, take a Trolley Tour or one of the guided walking tours of Butte’s historic district, visit the Mining Museum, take a drive over Mill Creek Pass, visit the Big Hole Battlefield, enjoy the falls at Lost Creek State Park, get your license and fish one of Montana’s blue ribbon trout rivers or streams, or schedule your visit to coincide with Evel Knievel Days or the Montana Folk Festival. Then come back to a cozy home, and maybe an evening swim at Fairmont Hot Springs.
An abundance of historic and recreational activities await your visit, and so do we. If possible, we’d like to be there when you arrive so we can help you get acquainted with our house. If this is not possible, then please give us a call so we can let you know where the key is.
The attached garage is not available for guests, but there’s plenty of room for parking in the driveway.
Check-in is at 4:00 P.M., and check-out is by 11:00 A.M.
We no longer offer an outside hot tub, but the Jacuzzi tub in bedroom is awesome!! Fairmont is also an incredible hot springs!
