The cottage is just a couple minute drive from the Anchor Inn where you can rent pontoon boats from, which is also a fantastic Bar and Grill right on the Rock River. It is walking distance from the Lake House Inn which is a great dinner place, and only a 5 minute drive from the new Rosati’s they just opened up on the river. There is a lot to do around the Cottage from having bonfires, swimming in the lake, going to dinner, or just hanging out with the family. Only 2 Hrs from Chicago! – Less Driving = More Vacation!

Come and explore the small towns and/or be close to all the actions of large cities in the area and retreat back to this, super clean, Cozy Cottage.
Edgerton Towne Country Club is just 10 minutes away and open to the public for golfing on a beautiful course, with a couple of the holes designed by Edgerton native, Steve Stricker. Also, Edgerton has a great Aquatic Facility for relaxing around the pool on a hot summer day. Have lunch at Off The Hook Grub/Pub or The Edgewater Cafe. Pick up some bait and supplies at Treps Bait Shop. Enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife from the nearby wetlands throughout the seasons. Enjoy great fishing year long, or play on the snowmobile trails. This is a great place to just watch the world go by.
Janesville is a great city that is only a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. You can visit the Rotary Botanical Gardens, Rock County Historical Society or the Camden Playground for the kiddies, or bike and roller blade paths. Twenty percent of Wisconsin’s buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places are located in Janesville. Janesville has a charming old downtown with the Ice Age bike trail cutting right through town.
Fort Atkinson is a 20 minute drive to Fireside Dinner Theatre which has live professional show in the intimate theatre-in-the-round. The Fireside Dinner Theatre is one of the Midwest’s most popular entertainment destinations and the only Actor’s Equity dinner theatre in Wisconsin. Fort Atkinson also has riding stables and horseback riding.
Cool shopping, Galleries and coffee shops, always a way to spend a fun afternoon checking out downtown Cambridge! The town, is 13 miles away, with quaint shopping and excellent family dining. Great fishing, water sports, golf, and tennis are a few of the activities that are waiting for you. Apple picking, dairy farm tours, drive-in movies, CamRock Park trails attract visitors from all over the Midwest, and stock car races are just a few of the family activities within 20 minutes of the Cottage.
Elkhorn has Alpine Valley Music Theatre and Apline Valley Resort, just 40 minutes away for downhill skiing or golfing. Visit the family operated Apple Barn Orchard and Winery. Have dinner at Watson’s Wild West Dinner Theater and Western Museum.
The Wisconsin Dells 75 minutes away! You can see Rick Wilcox Magic Theater or go Ziplining! Fawn Creek Winery is worth the trip! Great entertainment under the stars at the Bid Sky Twin Drive-In Theater. The Dells have the best and biggest water parks for the kids!
In Mount Horeb, just a short 50 minutes away, you can ski & Snowboard at Tyrol Basin, Go have a glass of wine at Fisher King Winery, visit Cave of the Mounds; or Blue Mounds State Park or visit the Duluth Trading Company for great outdoor/hard working garments and items. Plus they have a showing of antique hand tools.
Just a short 30 minute drive to the Capital of the state, Madison, Wisconsin opens up a whole variety of things to do and see; farmers Market each Saturday around the Capital Square, shopping, night life, museums, art and entertainment. 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles at Kettle Moraine State Forest is your guide to the outdoors. Also see the famous ‘House on the Rock’. The list goes on and on.
Or take a 75 minute drive over to Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin and explore all that city has to offer! Experience a game at Miller Park. Visit Harley-Davidson Museum or take a beer tour and tasting. One of Milwaukee’s showpiece buildings is of Basilica of St. Josaphat. Be amazed at the magnificent interior artwork. Located in an interesting part of town, not too far from the Frank Lloyd Wright homes.
