Give yourself the opportunity to kick back and relax! This is a charming one story home built in 1952, that features beautiful views of Lake Kegonsa from many rooms.
We require a minimum age of 25 years for rental.
This is NOT a party home.
Our guests are able to relax in the spacious living room with couch and side chairs perfect for watching lake & yard activities, catching up with family & friends, catching up on reading or TV watching or playing a board game. With a flip of a switch, the gas fireplace creates a warm glow. Central air and heating and a ceiling fan add to the room’s comforts.
Just steps from the front of the house is a level lot yard and a dock in place from Mid May to September, weather permitting. The dock is a great place to launch a kayak available on site or to drop a fishing line. You may wish to bring your own boat (of less than 14’) and launch it from one of the nearby boat launches. The shoreline has been secured with large boulders so the dock is the best access point to this beautiful lake.
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WISH TO BRING A BOAT.
Boat owners are responsible for damage to the dock and boat bumpers caused by their boat.
Lake Kegonsa is a 3200 acre lake with a 32 foot max depth and 17 foot mean depth. Musky, pan fish, large and small mouth bass, northern pike, walleye and catfish are fished from Lake Kegonsa where fishing is a year round sport. Enjoy the yard with a game of bocce ball or croquet–or relax in one of several comfortable places to sit–with a good book and something to wet your whistle. Bring a ghost story or camp songs for an evening fire in the fire pit. Kids of all ages need a s’more at least one every summer!
A separate dining space has a table with comfortable seating for six. The dining room has a large pass through so it is easy to stay connected to fun in the living room. Use our internet to stay as connected as you prefer.
The first bedroom features a queen size bed, original built in drawers and a walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a full size bed with a built-in desk. The third bedroom is the sun room. It features a comfortable king size bed, a dresser, side tables, ceiling fan and lamps. Like the rest of the home, the bedrooms are tastefully furnished.
An updated fresh bathroom with a shower stall is conveniently located between the bedrooms. Linens are provided in the bathroom & kitchen and for the beds. Bring a favorite pillow or blanket–or enjoy ours! A full size washer & dryer are available for your use.
The kitchen has many of the creature comforts of home. A large full size refrigerator, freezer, oven and microwave are at your fingertips. Small appliances such as coffee maker, toaster, waffle maker, blender and toaster oven are available for your use. A gas grill is just out the door and is available year round. The kitchen is stocked with dishware, pots & pans, utensils, glasses, mugs, and serving ware. Don’t let the absence of a dishwasher ruffle your feathers. Grab a towel and solve world problems or get to know your family member better. We provide a stocked water cooler for convenient cold and hot water consumption and reverse osmosis filtered water at the kitchen tap.
Book a few nights, a week or more at Cottage Life. Your hosts are nearby to help with suggestions or lend a hand if needed. Take the time to create some good memories for yourself–and your loved ones–at Cottage Life on Lake Kegonsa.
Please note we do have a limit of six human heartbeats in this cottage. Regardless if Grandma or the babies are coming along, the limit is six. The cottage stay will be more pleasant for the guests and gentle on the property if it is not overloaded.
This is a family home in a community of single-family residences. This is NOT a party house. Guests may not host events or parties at our cottage and, if they chose to do so, are subject to forfeiture of the security deposit, cancellation of the reservation and/or other unpleasant ramifications.
Also, we sometimes keep a pair of our jet skis at the dock. These are not available for guest use or rental. You may see us cross the yard to access the dock. We will be respectful of your privacy and space.
We look forward to meeting you!
