The best log cabin in Jewell Hollow, Luray Virginia and yes it is ADA compliant! Located near the peak of the Shenandoah Mountains/Skyline Drive, “A Buck’s Peak” is a quiet hide-away that accommodates peace and tranquility to help you and your family relax and “re-charge” the batteries. Four master bedrooms – 3 king beds and 1 queen, “A Buck’s Peak” sleeps 10 (with built in bunk beds) and brags the best views on the mountain. One jet-soaking tub in the upstairs master bedroom and the queen bedroom has an ADA compliant bathroom and shower. Both basement bedrooms have full baths! Hot tub (8-person, 120 jets), 55-inch Sony television with DIRECTV, stainless steel appliances, DVD with DVD library, screened-in porch, jet bathtubs upstairs, and a game room complete with a shuffleboard table, dart board and a Sony Play Station 1 (with games) are just some of the amenities that will ensure you and your family enjoy your stay. We have a super large fire-pit and wood is NOT provided. Additionally, we have two grills; one charcoal and one propane gas. Basic grilling utensils are there. We do not guarantee that the propane tank will be full – check the tank before grilling; please bring your own charcoal). Kitchen has granite counter-tops and stainless steel appliances and is fully stocked with all the pots, pans and plates to cook your meal and enjoy it! Sure, you can do your laundry at the cabin – full washer and dryer units are located next to the game rooms. Wi-fi/internet is available for a $30 fee; it is via satellite and will not support gaming or streaming movies.
Verizon is probably the best in terms of cellular connectivity. Pets are certainly welcome and we have a fenced in pet run for exercise. Please do not leave your pet in the pen if you leave the area; pets are confined to that space and other wildlife are interested. Additionally, if you leave your pet alone in the cabin, you must put the pet in a crate; crates are not provided i.e. you must bring your own. Pet fee is $40 for one pet, $80 for two pets or more. First 40 yards of drive is concrete – after the first 40 yards, the drive turns into gravel to take you up the mountain to this quiet hide-away. Four-wheel-drive highly recommended between October and April; front wheel drive the rest of the year is recommended. If you read about poor road conditions in the reviews, we have rectified that with the new concrete drive.
