The design of Afton Cottage was inspired by a Japanese farm house.

The kitchen is fully equipped and offers coffee,oil,spices,condiments,& seasonings. You will find Calphalon cookware and Sabatier knives.

The cottage is located 20 miles west of Charlottesville, home of the University of Virginia and Monticello. It is 25 minutes from Wintergreen, which offers golf, and skiing.

Staunton, which is renowned for its Victorian architecture, is 25 minutes west. In Staunton you will find The Museum of American Frontier Culture, the birthplace of Woodrow Wilson, and the Blackfriar’s Playhouse, in addition to excellent restaurants and numerous other cultural and sightseeing opportunities.

The SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK, BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, and APPALACHIAN TRAIL are only 15 minutes away as are 5 breweries and 10, or more, wineries, a distillery, and several cideries.

Numerous restaurants, offering everything from fine dining to good old country fare, are within 15 minutes.

UVA Visitors, we are just 20 miles from Scott Stadium, John Paul Jones Arena and THE ROTUNDA. Most of that is Interstate 64.
